Honed concrete for outdoors has the look and feel of a modern floor. It is versatile in its design and has the functionality of a hard wearing, long lasting, weed & slip resistant surface. Easy to clean it can withstand the harsh Australian climate, whilst keeping its decorative stylish colour and foot friendly feel.
Honed concrete is commonly used as an external product around pools, pathways, patios, driveways & entertainment areas. Commercially, honed concrete floors are used in public access areas, including walkways, stairs, common spaces and entry foyers.
Honed concrete is created with progressive grinding of the surface to the desired level of polished aggregate. While the surface is smooth under foot, it is important that it has the required slip rating when finished. Honed concrete is typically finished within an AS slip rating of R11 or higher, which makes it an incredibly safe outdoor surface.
